1951 vintage Bush TUG26 console/cupboard style TV with doors

Back in 1951 when this TV was made, people were unused to having technical looking electronic items in their houses. To gain widespread acceptance for these new-fangled appliances, manufacturers had to dress radios & TVs up to look like ordinary furniture of the time. When the twin hinged doors on this TV are closed, it looks just like an ordinary drinks or crockery cabinet. This is finished in Walnut veneer on plywood and is in surprisingly tidy condition for nearly 70 years old.
