JVC Videosphere space-age 1970s 9" CRT TV

JVC Videosphere space-age 1970s 9

Wonderfully stylish TV looking like a spaceman's helmet. These were produced from 1970 until the early 1980s. Can either be suspended from its inbuilt chain or it can sit in its desktop ball & socket cradle allowing it to be set at a jaunty angle if you so wish. Black & white tube, telescopic aerial. This has recently died so no longer practical.

Caution! When you lift this TV up using the chain handle, the simple stand stays behind on the table as the spherical TV is only held in the bowl shaped stand by gravity. If you then casually put the TV down again, unaware of this, then it's highly likely the TV will be put down away from the stand where it'll promptly roll off the table & smash! This is my theory as to why there are so few of these TVs surviving in good cosmetic or working condition. Because the chain handle invites unknowing people to pick the TV up to admire it, you need a big warning notice ordering people not to touch!
