Lineman's phone, phone engineers BUTT phone handset

A lineman's (BUTT) phone like this is used by telephone engineers to test & listen in to phone circuits. This also features an old fashioned dial built into the rear of the mouthpiece. This comes with a cable terminating in a special plug. We can also supply a pair of crocodile clips instead. Butt phones like this have an arduous life, frequently being dropped or thrown into a toolbox so need to be robustly built. This one is completely encased in matt black rubber giving it a wonderfully chunky appearance. As used by Peter Cook from up a telephone pole in the brilliant 1967 film "Bedazzled".
