Part practical professional Sony Digital Video camera

This very desirable in its time camera is partly practical. We have the DV tape, charger & battery for it. It turns on, both the flip out screen & viewfinder work in that they show status screens. Pressing record illuminates the vital red recording light at the front of the camera - which most camera users operating candidly will tape over anyway. What doesn't work however is live view mode. It seems like the sensor is dead so it won't show the viewed image on any connected monitor.
