This TV is able to receive a high definition 819 line monochrome signal. Unfortunately this standard developed in the 1970s wasn't compatible with the newly emerging colour broadcasts of the time so it never caught on. Nevertheless it does still receive regular 625 line TV signals so it will work in normal definition mode with our media players & HDMI converters etc. The carrying handle is collapsible flush into the top of the TV. The telescopic aerial extends to about a metre, can be set to any angle and can be folded flush with the top surface.
