Modern court room stenograph/stenotype with detachable tripod stand

Essential equipment for any court room drama. Stenographs are used for silently & rapidly recording onto a printed paper roll everything that is said during a legal trial. It's the fastest way of transcribing uninterrupted speech. Stenotype is one of the best known makers of stenograph machines. Stenographs work in a similar way to Pitman shorthand in that the sounds of the words are typed rather than individual letters. It must be a very skillful job as multiple keys need to be pressed simultaneously & the keys are always unmarked.

This is a modern partly working stenograph that can either be attached to its own tripod or stood on a table. Comes complete with fan fold paper. The ink ribbon on this has disintegrated & they're no longer made so no printed marks are made on the paper but, from a distance, the paper can be seen to visibly jerk as it feeds through.
