Practical dekatron/rotary Nixie tube Geiger counters/timers

Very typical 1950s styling for these stylish laboratory counter timer instruments. In their time they could either have been used as Geiger counters for measuring radioactivity when connected to a Geiger Muller tube detector or they would have been used as fast digital timers or counters. Before LEDs or digital displays were available, dekatron tubes were often used as a form of digital display. In use, an orange dot of neon coloured light whirls around inside the tubes making them extremely visual. The right hand tube counts so fast that it's just a blur. The left hand one counts 10 x slower so you can see the dot jumping from one position to the next. There is also an electromechanical counter to count the slower moving digits. This makes a reassuring tick tick sound. To satisfy complaining sound recordists, we've fitted a disconnect switch for this at the rear.
