Practical, portable 1960s HMV domestic reel to reel tape recorder

From the outside this looks very similar to a Dansette style record player. No doubt HMV would have made such a matching record player themselves. This is classic early 1960s styling & designed to be easily carried about as there is a suitcase style handle along one side. It accepts up to 5.75" diameter spools. This is fully working mechanically but not the audio which shouldn't be a problem for film prop use. Play, fast forward & rewind all spin the spools exactly as they should. The hinged lid is not intended to be detached but could be removed by unscrewing if your filming requires. We would insist that it's transported with the lid attached though to prevent damage in transit
