Pye Transhailer Megaphone from 1955

This would have been an early application of the newly emerging transistor amplifier which allowed electronics to be greatly miniaturised. Prior to this, a megaphone would have used valve amplification for which the battery alone would be so bulky & heavy it would have had to be carried separately - strapped to someone's body.
