World War 2 civilian receiver

This very basic & easy to manufacture radio was developed during WW2 as it was realised that it was vital for civilians to be kept informed of rationing etc. It was also a intended as a moral booster so there was plenty of light entertainment broadcast during the war. There were shortages of electronic components & also radio service technicians so having one standard design produced by multiple manufacturers greatly alleviated both of these demands.
