The large disk platter assembly is 14 inches in diameter, the smaller is 8. They both would have contained about 80 MB of storage. That's MEGA Bytes not Giga Bytes. By comparison, modern laptop drives are just 2.5" in diameter & contain about 60,000 times more data. This is the physical size that hard disk drives used to be for mainframe or mini computers of the 1970s-1990s & you were grateful. Originally these would have been polished within an inch of their lives. We ask hirers to handle & especially re-pack them with the utmost care as when scratched, they lose much of their appeal.
