Practical 1950s-1960s taxi/police car radio transmitter/receiver

This would have been mounted underneath the dashboard of taxis or police cars in the 1950s-1960s allowing communication back to the base station. The transmitter part of the system was suitcase sized back then so would have been mounted in the boot (trunk) & connected to this by a long umbilical. This prop contains an internal battery to light the lamps to make it easier to use in period action cars which may not have a power socket. The power switch works as it should & pushing the microphone press-to-talk button lights the red transmit light as it should.
