Practical 1950s era Eddystone 770R short wave & VHF radio receiver

Practical 1950s era Eddystone 770R short wave & VHF radio receiver

Much used by the government for evesdropping on foreign radio transmissions. These were also popular multiband short wave receivers amongst radio amateurs. All valve design. The tuning range was from 19MHz to 165MHz. Radios like this did not include an internal speaker. You will need to dress some period headphones or an external speaker for proper realism. The large clear tuning scale lights up nicely & the tuning pointer can be moved left & right by twiddling the large knob.
