We now have x 2 of these very stylish Visual Display Units. The side profile with roundy corners & edges is particularly appealing. They were indeed design classics of their time & have become highly collectible. They are fully practical with cool looking green text on black backgrounds. These are not computers in their own right - having little thinking & no storage ability. That's how things were back in the 1970s. They were typically used for interacting with a distant mainframe or mini computer whereby typed commands would be sent to the mainframe from the keyboard. The mainframe would then send blocks or lines of text back to the VDU screen in response. They have next to no graphics ability. You will need to type your own text on the screen & steer the cursor around from the keyboard. Alternatively they could easily be used as action props so that pre-prepared blocks of text can be sent on cue from a laptop equipped with the correct serial interface. Good for a period hacking scene etc.
